Let Me Call You A Cab.... Hey y'all heyyyy!!! Before I dive into this blog post let me first start off by apologizing to you all. I am soooo sorry that I have not posted my 30th birthday blog! 😭 I definitely started working on it and had every intention of posting before I went back home to visit family and friends last month, HOWEVER my laptop would not let me save my updates on the post. (yes I traveled during Rona and this wasn't the first time either!) I was also trying to put my pictures in a prettier format for y'all and that was a whole 'notha thang. But I do have some EXCITING news for you guys.......I officially have my very own website !!!! So go ahead and check it out. I will be posting all my future blogs including my birthday blog and any other content on that site . https://www.jenmeetsworld.com/home I am super excited for this transition especially since this was a goal for 2021. Do You Know What Today Is??

It's My Anniversary Guess what y'all?!?!?! Today marks the day that I OFFICIALLY moved to Phoenix, Az! We all envision, dream, or even plan out how things will work but the universe (or God) sometimes has a different plan for us. So my plans went like this: Find a two bedroom apartment (that didn't happen) Go to all the events and places I found on the internet (nope!) Have a good group of folks that will hopefully turn into lifetime friends ( EXTREMELY slow, but still in progress) Romantic relationship evolving (ummmm yeah lol Hinge account here I come! lol) Joining some organizations both at work and outside of work (ha ha ha) Get better with being active and eating healthier (gained 30lbs since the move smh! The Re-cap In the beginning, there was adjusting to the time change, weather, public transportation, learning my new job role, etc. The first time I went out was by myself to see a cover band perform Jodeci songs. This spot was called Wasted Grain , it's located

Girl Is This You?!

My Favorite Feature Girl is this you 👀👀👀👀  !!!! Hey y'all heyyy!! Did you all see this yet?!?  It has been awhile since I have blessed yall with my writing abilities (lol) and I do apologize about that. HOWEVAAAA, I have some exciting news to share!  If you follow me on any of my social media platforms then you may already be aware but (insert drum roll pleaseeee)...ya girl was featured in an article on Voyage Phoenix  Magazine. For those that may not have heard of Voyage Magazine before it is an online platform that fosters collaboration and support for small businesses, independent artists and entrepreneurs, and local institutions that are located in a certain city or location. They're in multiple cities which include but are not limited to LA, Dallas, and MIA. I love a little backstory, so here it goes. Someone on their editorial team contacted me via email about an interview. Originally, I thought it was an interview to become an editor for the magazine. I was confused

The Read & The Tea

What Is Love? A word that has so many different meanings depending on who you may ask...music artists, such as  Lauryn Hill (The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill) & Mack Wilds (New York: A Love Story) prove this point on their highlighted albums with a snippet of them asking individuals what their definition of love was. I've decided to let y'all know about one of the books I've read during my social media fasting for lent (February 26th-April 12th) since it had an impact on my way of thinking. So, if there was any wonder to why I wasn't posting during that time period its because I gave it up. And to answer your question YES the struggle was TOOOO REAL this time around, especially giving up IG, FB, Snapchat, and Twitter all at once. Lordt! Now, I try not to be out here speaking on  EVERYTHANGGG that goes on in my life; especially on the inters of net (internet) cause privacy is a good thing at times. However, there was a reason for me reading this gem sooner

NBA All-Star Weekend 2020

Image
Live From The Chi As many of you may know the National Basketball Association (NBA) holds a yearly weekend extravaganza mid-February. This takes place during the middle of the regular season.  A numerous amount of basketball events, branding events, exhibitions, parties, and performances happen during this weekend. These events usually start Thursday night continuing into the wee hours of  Monday morning. During this time period no regular season games are played which gives the players a break if they aren't attending the festivities or playing in the Sunday night game. Side Note: Why did they pick this weekend to always fall around Valentines Day and during black history month?!? #thingsthatmakeyougohmmm All-Star weekend brings out everyone from the players to celebrities, brands (clothing, alcohol, etc) , and the most important of them all...THE FANS! The NBA not only highlights players that are already apart of the league during this time but also the rising stars i

Nostalgic Vibes & Bottomless Mimosas Who loves 90s RnB?! Who loves a good ass brunch?! Well if you answered yes to both questions then you DEFINITELY want to keep reading!! So let me just put this out there that I got a taste of what brunch is for the first time in DC for my 24th birthday and I've been in love with the concept ever since! Now, if you don't know, DC is well-know for their Brunch life. (PSA: I enjoy brunches with good ass food, music, and BOTTOMLESS mimosas) With that being said, there's this brunch spot in Brooklyn called Woodland that me and some friends have been eyeing for a couple of years. Watching their stories on IG would be torture for us because it was sooo lit!!! Sadly our schedules just never seemed to get us there...well at least not until now! *insert evil grin & Birdman hand rub* Since the start of this blog I have been keeping an eye out on events that I feel are worthy enough (definitely have numerous events on my list) t

Trappin' Aint Dead

Sox in Da Air...They Comin' to Delaware! **Disclaimer** Trap Karaoke  recently announced their fall tour line up and Wilmington, DE has made the motha-luvin cut!! Reasons why I'm excited:  I live in Wilmington, Delaware (Yes black people live in Delaware!)  Don't have to travel to Philly (not that it's crazy far but still)  Events (like this one) that travel to major cities never stop here  Most importantly NONE of my friends has an excuse on why they can't come So in honor of this news my subtitle is from a song from a local artist here . This track was so big that Meek Mill (with the braids) jumped on the remix. Anyway.... I recently went to their summer tour stop in Philly at the TLA . History Just want to give yall a brief little background on this AMAZING black curated event. The event founder and director is Jason Mowatt. The first event took place on September 29, 2015 in New York City. The event turned out to be such a success
