Heyyyy and welcome to Jen Meets World, a blog that provides you with events and places worth experiencing!

My name is Jennifer, and I've been going to events that would not be apart of your typical "bars and parties," especially events curated for our black culture for 3 years now. Our community has started curating events that are for us and by us. So with that being said I decided to create my own blog to highlight these events and the "vibes" that they provide. I will include reviews and suggestions on other events, places, and activities that you would want to experience!

After constantly hearing from friends that "I am the plug" or "I know about all the events;" I decided to take those statements seriously and try my luck with blogging. I hope that with this blog you end up checking out all these different events and places and create your own unforgettable moments. Going to these events have helped me realize that we can have events that don't result in negative things happening; that we can all come together and have a bangin' ass time. #facts

In my free time, I enjoy napping, spinning class, reading (s/o to the book club #ondagang), spending time with family & friends, going to the movies on discount Tuesdays (lol), traveling, happy hours, and brunching of course!

Do You Know What Today Is??

It's My Anniversary Guess what y'all?!?!?! Today marks the day that I OFFICIALLY moved to Phoenix, Az! We all envision, dream, or even plan out how things will work but the universe (or God) sometimes has a different plan for us. So my plans went like this: Find a two bedroom apartment (that didn't happen) Go to all the events and places I found on the internet (nope!) There Must Be Something In The Water

A Weekend To Remember As some of you may know (those who follow me on social media ) I recently had the privilege of attending Pharrell's first and hopefully annual Something in the Water festival . Pharrell originally published the first IG post about the festival March 4th and the event was sold out by March 27th! Normally, I take my talents to Made in America festival  (got to see Beyonce perform) but I feel like the lineup over the last couple of years was not that impressive, needless to say I was looking for a new festival to attend. I originally had my eyes set out on Broccoli City Festival (D.C) which fell on the exact same weekend as Something In The Water! I quickly decided on Pharrell's festival for the experience, plus I've never been to Virginia Beach, and to say I went there the first year! What Is Love? A word that has so many different meanings depending on who you may ask...music artists, such as  Lauryn Hill (The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill) & Mack Wilds (New York: A Love Story) prove this point on their highlighted albums with a snippet of them asking individuals what their definition of love was. I've decided to let y'all know about one of the books I've read during my social media fasting for lent (February 26th-April 12th) since it had an impact on my way of thinking. So, if there was any wonder to why I wasn't posting during that time period its because I gave it up. And to answer your question YES the struggle was TOOOO REAL this time around, especially giving up IG, FB, Snapchat, and Twitter all at once. Lordt! Now, I try not to be out here speaking on  EVERYTHANGGG that goes on in my life; especially on the inters of net (internet) cause privacy is a good thing at times.
